Redress' EcoChic Design Awards 2013
The Redress EcoChic Design Awards 2013 were held last week in Hong Kong as a part of Hong Kong Fashion Week. The international competition saw 8 finalists from around the world compete in a 3-day finale event in Hong Kong that culminated in a fashion show on 15 January at the Convention & Exhibition Centre. Though the selected winner was Karen Jessen from Germany, we here at Stylecab felt that the competition was really close and that all eight finalists showed immense potential. In particular, three contestant's stood out: the UK's Catherine Hudson, Louise de Testa from France and Singaporean competitor Phee Ng. Stylecab felt that these three in particular had shown the ability to grow their design work into a viable commercial business as they produced cutting-edge pieces that the Stylecab team felt were both creative and highly sellable. Catherine Hudon's watercolor prints would be a sure-fire hit on the shop floors, while Louise de Testa's geometric eye for design is instantly an recognizable branding feature and Phee Ng's avant-garde use of panelling with different textures and colours creates gorgeous dresses. See more from each of Stylecab's favorites from the Redress EcoChic Design Awards 2013 below, along with our pick of the best look from each designer that evening.
Catherine Hudson (United Kingdom)

Stylecab's pick from Catherine Hudson.
Louise de Testa (France)
Louise de Testa, a designer from France.
Her look shot by photographer Tim Wong, which features her signature geometric patterns.
All of Louise de Testa's looks for the Redress EcoChic Design Awards 2013.
Our pick from Louise de Testa's collection; though this piece doesn't feature her signature geometric pattern, we felt that this dress was still geometric but in a much slicker, chic way.
Phee Ng (Singapore)
Singaporean designer Phee Ng.
One of Phee Ng's pieces shot by photographer Tim Wong.
All of Phee Ng's pieces for the Redress EcoChic Design Awards 2013.
Our pick from Phee Ng's collection; we felt that this piece was statement-making and intricately made, but could still be worn either with strappy stilettos in the evening or with a blazer and pumps to work.
